Artech 2006 was the third (and the first named “international conference”) conference on the topic of Digital Arts. It aimed at continuing the promotion of the emerging community of digital art, embracing practitioners, artists, scholars, researchers, theoreticians and art consumers in general of this novel area of science & technology & arts & culture. The workshop has been held in Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain with the moto “Art, technology, science and society” with the following guest speakers: Karin Ohlenschlaeger, Head of the Media Lab, Madrid, Susannah Sayler, artist and founder of the “Cannary Project”, Erkki Huhtamo, Professor of Media Studies at the University of Lapland, and David Cuartielles, Telecommunication Engineer and Artist, Head of the Prototyping Lab at the School of Arts and Communication of the University of Malmoe.
